Always having been a quiet fellow by nature, my preferred means of expression have always been through drawing and painting. Eventually developing a knack for such mediums I further honed my craft earning a BFA at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. There I took my concepts into the digital frontier learning vital design programs such as Adobe Suite as well as the fundamentals of web design. Since then I’ve applied my services to the fields of marketing, publishing, signage, and web administration.
From providing custom artwork to recording artists to creating industrial signage for government contractors, the scope of my work has expanded faster than my waistline. This variety taught me indispensable lessons on all fronts and has served as a reminder that one’s education doesn’t stop after you are handed a degree…unfortunately neither does student loan debt.
Thus upon receiving my BFA I began my employment journey as a jittery intern at a design boutique. There I cut my teeth assisting in advertising and brand designs. There’s nothing like first seeing one of your designs in commercial print. After that, some freelance gigs led to more job opportunities. Eventually this led to learning the production process firsthand through employment with an industrial printer. The experience was crucial for a hands-on understanding of the manufacturing process as well as the software and machinery involved. It also instilled a new-found appreciation of the actual production side of the design process.
From there I took my services to an office setting with a global trade publication. This allowed to further extend my know-how into the fields of web design and digital marketing; more specifically by learning CMS and coding. Since then, web design and administration has become indispensable to my repertoire.
And that, my friends, is the story thus far. Please feel free to contact me with any further questions. Thanks for stopping by!
